Strategic IT Services has developed a software tool, the
employee services portal (ESP) application internally with the following key
purposes and functions:
First, the ESP is used by employees, contractors or consultants to track time
worked, log vacation time, time-off for holidays and illness or other reasons.
There is an employee self-service module where users have unique logon and
password access, 24 hours a day and are able to access their timesheet
information and obtain overview benefit information and benefit forms. It
is especially useful for employees to query their vacation time to track how
much vacation has accrued in their vacation bank versus vacation time
taken.
This functionality of
employee self service inquiries is a key differentiator with
competitive time tracking management
solutions.
In addition, management users approve employee timesheets for their own
employees and can pull reports daily, weekly, or monthly, which summarizes
their employees' time worked. Management reporting capabilities are used
both by Strategic Careers management and clients (status reports).
In summary, ESP is web based, with a user friendly, intuitive interface,
and provides a centralized process for vacation logging, with the ability for
employees to individually log-on (employee self service), as well as management
to pull reports. One differentiator is that management users at client
sites can approve timesheets for Strategic IT Services employees; as such, the
system allows both internal and external users. The application is secure
and reliable as it has successfully been operating for three years.
Further, it is scalable.
It automates processes for tracking time worked and vacation, reducing
